Current Recording productions April & May 2010

It's been a busy couple of months.

April sessions included recording and mixing five new compositions  for solo 'cello at British Grove Studios in London with Richard Cooper engineering. These are pieces which I perform live using the looping and sampling pedals in the solo production "Bach, Burridge & Into the Amazon". The solo pieces are going to be on my next release. Right now I have to get on and write the rest!...~~~

BJ Cole and I have been busy - recording at his house the complete suite of Gnossienes by

 Eric Satie. Originally composed for the piano we have written our arrangements alternating the piano parts between the 'cello and Pedal Steel guitar. We will be performing these alongside an eclectic program at the Aldeburgh Festival in Suffolk this June.

Emily and pedal steel guitarist BJ Cole returned to the stage to perform their eclectic program which includes their arrangements of compositions by composers Debussy, Copland and Satie.

BJ Cole Slide Guitar and Emily Burridge Cello When BJ Cole (a unique innovator on the pedal steel guitar, who has worked with Elton John, Marc Bolan, Sting, REM and the Verve) and Emily Burridge perform together they produce a dynamic energy created out of their complimentary musical perspectives. The unique combination creates orchestral sounds in a new and refreshing context producing infectious sounds and rhythms.
