Productions by Emily have classical and world music influences.
In her new production "Bridge between Worlds" Emily has skilfully set the primordial chants of the Xavante Indians within an orchestral setting with emotive solo ’cello themes. The recordings of the Xavante include recreational and ritualistic events which Emily witnessed and recorded when she was guest in a Xavante village. In composing this music Emily has drawn from these memories. The event which was originally associated with the Xavante song has dictated the mood and tempo of each individual piece. She has skilfully crafted the music around the chants. The result is a powerful sonic juxtaposition of cultures. The fluid tapestry of strings and wind instruments have both enhanced and expanded the sense of musical contrast with the deeply rooted ancestral chant of the Xavante. “Bridge between Worlds” is an emotive response by the composer and ‘cellist Emily Burridge as she celebrates and shares through this production her extraordinary experience of living with the Xavante tribe.

"Footsteps in the Sand" evolved from Emily's experiences when she was invited to make cultural exchanges in the North East of Brazil. Seeking out tradition and armed with her portable digital recorder, she travelled to isolated places visiting rural communities. She recorded both groups and individuals singing songs and chants. From these people she discovered a world rich in musical diversity.
In one place, which the locals referred to as the "end of the line" she encountered the Tremembe Indians and the Chief and his daughter decided to sing some of their traditional songs which Emily recorded and the Tremembe songs form the base for her tracks "Rainmaker", "Agua de Menina" and "Prayer for the Fishermen".
Emily has created a production which has a ambient/world music resonance. The music is extraordinarily calming perhaps due to the way Emily multi tracks the 'cello and uses the instrument in a unique way to accompany her vocal lines.
Also features the Austrian guitarist Gandalf and the Brazilian guitarist Manasses

"Earth Songs" Music full of primordial joy ~ The energetic source for the music was a journey made by Emily to the Mato Grosso Forest of Brazil. Staying in a vast raw natural environment, bathing in waterfalls at dawn, such experiences fed her senses in such a way that on returning to England she was inspired to convert these memories to sound and commenced writing lyrics which reflect experiences of this time. Ambient sounds and featured cello and singing with integrated use of Brazilian indigenous musical instruments and recordings of tribal ritual and song.
Emily combines her mellow 'cello and singing with classical harmonies and percussion, tribal chant and ethnic instruments.
The CD production also includes music inspired by experiences of recording tribal people singing at the Tribal Gathering Earth summit Rio 1992. "Vozes da Terra" features recordings of various tribal groups from this great gathering."Yanomami" also features recordings from this event with Davi Yanomami reciting the Yanomami myth for creation and a Xabori ritual with two Yanomami shamans singing in trance.
